The Twentieth Century in Five Mirrors

A cross-corpus reading of Welt im Umbruch with Boardman, Quigley, Sutton, Steiner, and Ben-Aharon

A systematic reading of the twentieth century's hidden geopolitical structure, anchored in Markus Osterrieder's Welt im Umbruch (2014) and triangulated against four parallel corpora that approach the period through different epistemic doors. One manuscript. One online edition. One research database.

The reading focuses on the period's occult or hidden aspects — defined as concentric layers of non-public action: cryptopolitical (secret-society policy networks), cryptofinancial (covert capital flows), and esoteric/supersensible (the period as a contested supersensible event in the reading of Rudolf Steiner and Yeshayahu Ben-Aharon).

Manuscript

The full cross-corpus reading — ~57,500 words in seven Parts: Executive overview, eight thematic essays, master timeline 1782-2024, 45 person dossiers and 11 institutional-network dossiers, open questions and steelmanned mainstream pushback, Steiner GA primary-source appendix, and bibliography.

Research Database

Filterable views over the underlying events.json data layer — 153 structured claim records across the six corpora, with confidence-tier discipline, cross-corpus triangulation links, and person-institution-event graph relations.

Master Timeline

179 cross-corpus events across eight eras, 1782-2024 — from the Anglo-American formation's pre-history through the post-2014 European confrontation. Each entry cross-linked to the relevant person and institutional dossiers.

Persons & Institutions

45 person dossiers (15 inner-circle + 30 mid-priority) and 11 institutional-network dossiers in four clusters — the actors and formations around which the structural argument is built.

Method

Every load-bearing claim in the manuscript carries one of six confidence tiers, applied with discipline across the data layer and the prose:

claimed_esoteric 31
confirmed_single 18
interpretation 4
confirmed_multi 77
claimed_anthroposophical_secondary 18
author_method_note 5

Mechanics first, teleology second. The documentary mainstream record (Quigley, Sutton, Boardman, Osterrieder's archival apparatus) is held distinct from the supersensible register (Steiner GA, Ben-Aharon) throughout. Documentary findings are never used to validate supersensible epistemology; supersensible claims are never used to fill gaps in documentary evidence. The convergence of the two registers across many events is the manuscript's interpretive contribution and is so tier-flagged.

The six corpora

Osterrieder anchor
Terry M. Boardman documentary
Carroll Quigley documentary
Antony C. Sutton documentary
Rudolf Steiner Gesamtausgabe primary-supersensible
Yeshayahu Ben-Aharon tier-2-supersensible

Provenance

The reading was conducted across May 2026 by an author working with five LLM-mediated research tools (Claude, Grok, Gemini, GPT). Multi-model roundtables at each major decision point pressure-tested the structural argument, the form-choice for productization (book + online + database; explicitly not an interactive documentary), and the methodological discipline. The substrate files — manuscript, claims database, image corpus, Steiner primary-source lectures — are downloadable from the database page.
