    "text": "## Chapter  XLVIII.\n\nHow  the  Servitor's  face  was  once  seen  to  shine  with  light \nwhile  he  was  preaching. \n\nOnce  when  the  Servitor  was  preaching  at \nCologne  with  great  fervour,  there  sat  among  his \nhearers  a  beginner  in  the  spiritual  life,  who  had \nbeen  recently  converted  to  God.  Now  while \nthis  beginner  was  attending  diligently  to  the \npreacher,  he  saw  with  the  eyes  of  his  soul  that \nthe  preacher's  face  began  to  be  transfigured \nwith  a  ravishing  brightness,  and  three  times  it \nbecame  like  the  radiant  sun  when  its  splendour \nis  at  the  highest ;  and  the  face,  moreover,  was \nso  pure,  that  the  beginner  saw  himself  reflected \nin  it.  This  vision  brought  him  very  great  con- \nsolation in  his  sufferings,  and  confirmed  him  in \na  holy  life.",
