The School of Spiritual Science X
During the educational event in Bern, a member lecture and a class lesson from the general educational section of the School of Spiritual Science were held. And during the anthroposophical course, which took place at the Goetheanum during Easter week, the members of the first class were brought together for two such class lessons. Following this course, the Medical Section organized two series of lectures, one for younger physicians and medical students, the other for practicing physicians. We are still in the middle of these events and will report on them further. But already now, we can express our deep satisfaction at how strongly the participants feel the need to enrich their professional training with a spiritual view of the whole human being, and to enrich the art of healing with a spiritual will to heal, imbued with a true understanding of the human being.
In a eurythmy performance for the members of the Anthroposophical Society, we wanted to show how the impulses that arose at the Christmas Conference at the Goetheanum can develop further with a certain necessity. The new impetus that this conference has brought to anthroposophical work must also be reflected in the fact that our events do not merely reflect what may have arisen in the moment, but that what has been worked out in the past continues to unfold in subsequent events. The aphorisms with which the spiritual foundation was laid in the hearts of the members of the Anthroposophical Society at the Christmas Conference were revived in eurythmic art at this Easter Conference. In connection with them, spiritually inspired, heartfelt, soul-warming poems by Albert Steffen were eurythmized, pouring a festive mood over this conference. In keeping with the Easter spirit, other elements were woven into the eurythmic performance. We thus had an Easter celebration that fully reflected the significance of our Christmas conference for the Society. Despite the difficulties that the current circumstances have caused for many members, our Easter conference was well attended. The rather uncomfortable conditions in which the audience has to participate in the events due to our inadequate rooms certainly gives rise to the wish that fate will soon grant us a new Goetheanum on the site of the one that was taken from us.
