Letter to Edith Maryon

Rudolf Steiner to Edith Maryon

Ilkley Hillside, Wharfedale (Yorks)
7 August 1923

My dear Edith Maryon!

I have just come from my second lecture. So far, everything has gone well. I am delighted that the second letter has just arrived. I thank you very much. The same goes for the magazine clipping. I am worried that my two letters (from Harwich and Ilkley) will not arrive because I wrote the address in German on them. I also sent one with a manuscript to Steffen. But hopefully everything will arrive safely.

There are very few men at the lectures, mostly women. It is as if the men wanted to withdraw from civilization. Apart from me, Miss McMillan has also spoken; she seems to be very well known in England and is an extremely dedicated advocate for her cause. She has written a very interesting book called “Education through the Imagination”. —

I cannot get a program from Penmaenmawr; as soon as I have one, I will send it.

Now I hope that your health will improve more and more. I ask you to be very, very careful and to take the rest you need. I send you my warmest thoughts.

Rudolf Steiner
