Exercises with Known Dates

The first three of these exercise texts date from before the official establishment of the Esoteric School in May 1904. For this reason, exercise archive no. 5299 has been included here, even though it is a morning and evening exercise.

Extend your index finger and feel Cosmic I within it.

Form an angle with your hand and feel A within it.

Move your hand toward your thumb and touch your thumb with your index finger and feel O within it.

IAO c) Devotional mood toward that which is most sacred to you. (The creative universe, God, etc., depending on what you, according to your personality, have learned to value and name as the highest.)

Form a snake and a Mercury staff with your index finger on your thumb and feel E within it.

A fist is U: O with a dot in it Ö ⊙.

Double I is Ü: pointed A is Ä.

☾ with your index finger gives the sensation of AU.

Saturn ~

Sun: There, the body is written in the ether according to the essence of the letters.

Moon: There, desire is placed in the limbs in the astral body.

Earth: There, the writing is made unrecognizable by the intensification of desire.

I. Every day, one should review the experiences of the personality during that day. One should consider the most important experiences one has had during the day and the way one has behaved within them. All this is done with the aim of learning from life. How can I do something I did today better? Ask yourself questions like these. This does not make you indifferent to pleasure and pain. On the contrary, it makes you more sensitive. But you do not dwell on worries and regrets about what you have done; instead, you transform them into a resolution to do everything better in the future. You become your own architect. Just as an architect does not stand and lament that the house he has built is not better, but evaluates the experience he has gained from the less successful one for the next possible construction, so does man do with himself. Our personality is destroyed by regret and worry; it rises through learning. Regret and worry are useless; the time we waste on them should be used for upward development. The whole thing need not take more than 3-4 minutes. One then falls asleep with a manas that has retained the power within itself to develop upward. If one can add to this an important resolution for life or even a good thought for one's fellow human beings, it is particularly good. This will gradually transform you, because during sleep you will have given your manas, freed from all personal barriers, a worthy content that promotes development.

II. First mental work of the day in the morning:

a) Elevation to your own higher self through complete devotion to the formula:

I am the living impulse in my shell.

My higher self is pure as the purest crystal.

b) Concentrated devotion to a lofty thought. The best is the meditation from the Bhagavad-Gita, Chapter III, Karma Yoga. From the third verse onwards:

As I have already told you, ...

Always just one verse. Stay with one verse for two weeks. After two weeks, choose the next one, and so on.

During this meditation, as well as during the previous elevation to the higher self, the field of consciousness must be completely pure. Every other thought must be kept completely away. If one arises, it must be removed with all your strength.

For the morning meditation, 8–10 minutes.

Patience, perseverance, and absolute seriousness are absolutely necessary. One must get into the mood where the mind feels this meditation as a need as natural as the body feels its physical needs. And then one waits until it is given. It will be given to everyone in due time.

You can start on April 16 (not earlier), then again on May 16. —

1.) Radiant ...

2.) Inhale, exhale, hold your breath

I am, which is poured through the whole body.

This three times in succession, whereby the “I am” should actually accompany the whole process.

Inhale, exhale, hold your breath

It — whereby it is actually “I.”

It is

this again three times

Inhalation, breath holding, exhalation

Inner is

3.) The currents within the body.

Then, after meditation, immerse yourself in the following figures and let them work on you:

What does it mean to disappear into oneself and re-emerge from one's disappearance?

How does a point become a circle, and how does a circle become a point?

What is inner, what is outer; what is above, what is below; what is matter, what is spirit; what is physical substance, what is ether?

What is astral?

How do the spirits of sensation affect the carrier of matter?

How does “turning” happen in evolution? (Involution - Evolution)

Imagine this as if the
lines were braces made of whalebone
in the position shown above;
but at every moment, through
their own force, they resist this position.

One immerses oneself completely in the mental image

Impersonal higher self

It is not important that one envisages a mental image prescribed by someone else, but rather that one tries to form the best possible mental image of the “higher self” that one is capable of forming according to one's level of development.

Now treat this mental image as if you were placing it inside your head, where the pineal gland is located. Transfer your consciousness there for a while and fill it completely with the above mental image of the “impersonal higher self.”. For a while, imagine that your own being is compressed in Z and that you are the above mental image. Banish everything else from your consciousness.

Once you have done this for a while, slowly move the above mental image from Z in a line to the beginning of the spinal cord, approximately where the brain merges into the spinal cord. Then lead it from there down the area of the spinal cord to a point called K (Kundali). After imagining that you have saturated the above mental image with Kundalini energy (spiritual fire), lead it slowly back up along the spinal cord to a point inside the head: approximately at the point (B) of the small brain (back of the head). Now lead the mental image (impersonal higher self) from this point in two lines to both eyes and let it flow out through them into infinite space. Then draw it back in through the eyes and lead it to point B. Repeat this by leading the mental image from B to both ears, letting it flow through them into infinite space, and then back through the ears to B.

Once you have imagined that you have led the mental image of the “impersonal higher self” twice through space and filled it with its contents, lead the enriched mental image back from B through the spinal cord to K, saturate it there in your imagination with spiritual fire, and then lead it very slowly (so slowly that the time it takes to ascend from K to the point in the throat at the level of the larynx is about 20 minutes) to the throat (at the level of the larynx). There, think intensely:

I am not you.

I, the mental image of the higher self, following all the paths that it has taken in the above sense.

You, the ordinary self with which one does not identify at this moment.

On the first day: I am the center of my being

for four days.

On the fifth day: I want to immerse myself in other beings.

for 7 days.

On the twelfth day: I want to penetrate the other beings.

for 7 days.

On the 19th day: I cannot overcome many things.

for 11 days

On the 30th day: I will not despair in the darkness.

Concentration l.b.1.F. = I stand steadfast in existence

Concentration r.B.r.F. = I cry out confidently on the path of life

7 times a day.

One tries to imagine a ray of red light penetrating the brain above the left eye (at a).

This ray passes through the head to the right side of the spine (at b); then it spirals around the spine (c, d, e, f, g, h);

As it spirals, let it change to yellow and then to green;

Then lead it back in spirals around the spine, letting it turn blue and then violet; as a violet ray, it should arrive at point c, located as far to the left of the spine as point b was to the right; then let it pass through the head to emerge as a violet ray (at d) above the right eye.

This exercise should be done slowly, taking 10-12 minutes.

Before doing the exercise, meditate on the thought: the line AB, which runs straight through the spine, represents the subconscious self; after the exercise, meditate on the thought that the same line represents the superconscious self.

Do this exercise on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday—then do the usual exercises on the remaining four days of the week: - - -.

Commentary.

When you incorporate these exercises into your meditation, you rhythmically connect with certain forces in the macrocosm. Old forces that once existed and will exist again are always present in the cosmos, existing only in embryonic form at present. All forces are arranged at a certain level so that they spiral into the microcosm (the human being).

In the red part of the ray are the Saturn forces
In the yellow part of the ray are the Sun forces
In the green part of the ray are the Earth forces
In the blue part of the ray are the forces of Jupiter.
In the violet part of the ray are the forces of Venus.

(The forces of the moon and Venus are omitted because they would cause a retardation of development.)

By incorporating these forces through the meditation described above, you will gradually be able to feel the movements of the two-petaled lotus flower and find yourself in possession of spiritual hands that can touch spiritual beings.

  1. Face yourself like this
so that through the hair whirls
you draw a line like a colorless
ray of energy that goes down in the direction
of the spine; while doing so, let your thoughts
    run along this line:

Hence your being

  1. Stand facing yourself
so that you can draw a line through the middle of your eyebrows
    like a blue
beam of light that winds like a snake
around the beam of energy you imagined earlier
; let your thoughts run along this line:
    längs dieser Linie laufen lassen:

So my gaze

  1. Face yourself so that
you can draw a line through your larynx
as if a dull sound (o or u)
    were winding in serpentine curves
around the ray of energy you first imagined; let your thoughts
    run along this line:

This is my strength.

I carry love in the core of my being.

I cherish hope in everything I do.

I) After morning meditation and before evening meditation:

1.) Breathe in deeply and say Yahweh;

2) Pause

3) Breathe out and say the same word backwards.

Spend about 2 minutes on these 3 moments.

Repeat 2 to 7 times

II) During morning and evening meditation, add inner contemplation of the “Sistine Madonna” – imagine that it gradually becomes smaller and enters your heart, while power flows out from the main figure and the heads in the background.

Inhale Yahweh, fill yourself completely with the

power of the name

Then imagine that lotus flowers grow out of the whirlpool

So let the starry constellation of my body blossom

Look at the sun as an image and think that the sun (Christ) says:

In the beginning was the Word
The Word dwells in you (heart).

Seven-week exercise1

I understand the world. I know what was before the world. I penetrate divine being—love shines. I grasp divine being—love understands. Divine being flows into me. Love fills me completely.

Each sentence is to be practiced for one week; in the seventh week, all six together.

Inner peace.

Practice the sounds

R S K G c h h f n l t d P B M

from the outside to the inside, towards the [ear], so that the first consonants in this sequence are heard more with the outer ear and the last ones with the inner ear

I U O E A

The vowels in this series must only be sounded internally, so that they gain more and more power and creatively fill the physical ear from the inside out.

Christ says

Rosicrucian

Night

Inhale silently

I am in worlds wide - exhale

and wide is my own being - inhale

My eye is the space of heaven - exhale

And the end of the threads of life (nerves) - hold your breath
these are the stars - inhale slowly
The stars in my world eye - exhale slowly
and my pupil is the moon - hold your breath
I see, I see the firmament - inhale slowly
And a point - exhale quickly
is the firmament — inhale quickly
The firmament is my soul - hold your breath
my soul that carries my self - exhale inhale silently
exhale silently.
