Your blessing
You great
Brothers
You who live in our thoughts,
you who power our feelings,
you who pulse through our will,
you who shape the lower from above,
you who spiritually raise the lower to the higher,
our souls implore you
for the Theosophical Lodge in Malsch.
Envelop the stone with your lives,
which we lower into the earth here, so that
what is thought, felt, and desired above it
may grow from the seed of your lives.
Given and entrusted to the earth
for the Malsch Lodge and its faithful guardians
and the Stockmeyer family in the presence
of representatives of the theosophical lodges:
Berlin, Düsseldorf, Munich, Stuttgart,
Nuremberg, Wiesbaden, Lugano, Karlsruhe,
Heidelberg, Bielefeld.

May the light of the spirits of the East shine upon this building
The light of the spirits of the East;
May the spirits of the West reflect it back;
May the spirits of the North strengthen it
And the spirits of the South warm it,
So that the spirits of the East, West,
North and South may flow through the building.

Inauguration of the Stuttgart Branch House
Spirit of the universe, you who proclaim yourself to our true self-knowledge, you have graciously kept the word you gave us when you saw the work your servants had been doing for years; and today, at this hour, it is becoming apparent. Admittedly, the vastest realms of the spirit cannot comprehend you, great spirit of the universe, who with your thoughts permeate all your works, who wants to dwell in the words that may sound from our lips; how much less can these temple walls, which we have built for you, comprehend you. But behold, Spirit of the universe, who reveals yourself in our true self-knowledge, in the will to understand, in the longing for knowledge of your servants! Behold, Spirit of the universe, who permeates every self, look down upon us, and let your eyes be open upon this building where you have decided to dwell! Hear our feelings, which urge us to show ourselves worthy through our work of allowing your spirit to flow into the rooms we have dedicated to you!

North But when wise leaders of humanity
Were chosen from among the souls devoted to the spirit
By higher powers of existence.
They cultivated in places of knowledge
The spiritual forces, the rays of knowledge
Which they sent into souls that were only dimly aware
Of their vision.
Only later were spiritual researchers able to gather
Did the spiritual researchers draw their disciples,
Who through their strong-willed lives of trial
Proved themselves ripe to strive purposefully in the light of consciousness
Towards spiritual knowledge.
And when the disciples later became the first leaders
And were able to cultivate the noble gift with dignity,
The unconscious leadership disappeared,
So that free souls could strive knowledgeably.
And free souls then chose people
Who were allowed to follow them in cultivating
The treasure of the spirit; and so it continued
From one generation to the next.
Until now, all places of knowledge
That are truly such have sprung forth justly
From the highestthat stands in the spiritual spheres.
In earnest search we strive here
Toward the true spiritual heritage of mankind.
We will never speak of knowledge
That does not bear the seal of the spirit;
Only from the light of the spiritual worlds,
Which people can see when they look up,
Those who want to trust themselves to it,
In order to fathom the depths of their souls.
The seriousness of the turning point in time
is what the seriousness of the turning point in time teaches us
and its necessity; the signs are truly
full of meaning, which are now clearly revealed to the spiritual eyes
in the world plan. —
And the light
of the spirits
Became the light
of man.

For the opening ceremony of the first event in the still unfinished Goetheanum building
In the name of that spirit which proclaims itself to the souls
in our place of striving,
I appear at this moment
Before people who from now on want to hear
The word that sounds solemnly here to the souls.
Not in earlier times could those powers
That guide the goals of our earthly existence
Reveal themselves in a fully conscious manner.
For just as in the body of a child
The powers that are destined to be the bearers of knowledge
Must gradually mature and grow stronger,
So too must humanity as a whole unfold
In its earthly journey.
At first, the impulses of the soul lived in dullness,
Which were later to prove worthy
Of beholding the light of the spirit from higher worlds.

Feel into the breath—feel quietly
The power of the waves of the world surges within me
On the waves lives the will of the gods
The will of the gods, you fill me
I enliven you as human will
In human will, my being becomes
A life that creates its own power
I work out of my ego into the world.
Feel into the blood circulation – listen quietly
Within me, the power of human will calms down
In the calmness, human thinking lives
Human thinking, you enlighten me;
I grasp you as God's thought
In God's thought is my archetypal being
And archetypal being becomes light-creating within me
I think from God to myself.

May the power of the spirit in love prevail
May the light of the spirit in goodness work

For the intimacy of the soul
For the brightness of the spirit
May it bring forth.

In their hearts they remember the spirit
that is to reign here, those who

here, so that
it may strengthen the foundation
upon which they are to live, reign, and work:
Liberating wisdom
Strengthening spiritual power
Revealing spiritual life.
They wish to profess this:
In the name of Christ

You who guide spiritual life and give people what they need according to the times,
You work with us when our friends here in this city serve spiritual life with devotion.
We would like to send this as a prayer to the spiritual leaders, the higher hierarchies, at this moment, which is solemn in two respects. ...

They change in the stream of time;

For the working group of Alice Kinkel in Stuttgart
The sphere of the spirit is the home of the soul;
And man reaches it
If he follows the path of true thinking,
Chooses the power of love in his heart
As his strong guide,
And opens the inner meaning of his soul
To the writing that is revealed everywhere
In the world,
Which he can always find
As a proclamation of the spirit
In everything that lives and works,
And in all things, too,
That spread lifelessly in space,
As in everything that happens
In the stream of time.
Rudolf Steiner

Look down upon our earnest, heartfelt striving
From regions of light, strengthening us
And illuminating our love.
November 1923
To our friends in Berlin
Man sees
With the eye created by the world;
He is bound by what he sees,
To the joy of the world and the pain of the world;
It binds him to everything,
To everything that becomes, but no less,
To everything that falls
Into the dark abyss.
Man sees
With the eye given by the spirit;
He is bound by what he sees,
To the hopes of the spirit and the sustaining power of the spirit;
It binds him to everything,
That has its roots in eternity
And bears fruit in eternity.
But man can only see
Only when he feels his inner eye
As a member of the spirit of God,
Which on the stage of the soul
In the temple of the human body
Works the deeds of the gods.
It is humanity
In forgetfulness of the inner God,
But we want to take it
Into the bright light of consciousness,
And then carry over the rubble and ashes
The flame of the gods in the hearts of men.
So may lightning strike our houses of the senses
We will build houses for our souls
Of iron-strong webs of light.
And the downfall of the outer world
Shall become the dawn
Of the innermost soul.
Suffering presses in
From the forces of matter;
Hope shines,
Even when darkness surrounds us;
And one day it will
Penetrate our memory,
When, after the darkness,
Are allowed to live again in the light.
We do not want this light
To be missing from our future happiness,
Because we have not planted it in our souls

From the letter to the teachers
Goetheanum, March 15, 1925 Thinking nourishes my etheric body.
For anthroposophical doctors
Preparation: How do I find the good?
- Can I think the good?
I cannot think the good.
So I do not find the good in the fluid of the body.
- Can I feel the good?
I can feel the good, but it is not there through me
if I only feel it.
Feeling nourishes my astral body.
My astral body works in the airy part of my body.
So in the airy part of the body I do not find the good that exists through me.
- Can I will the good?
I can will the good.
Willing sustains my ego.
My ego works in the warmth ether of my body.
Therefore, in warmth I can physically realize the good.
I feel my humanity in my warmth.
- I feel light in my warmth.
(Pay attention that this sensation of light occurs in the area where the physical heart is located.)
- I feel the substance of the world sounding in my warmth.
(Make sure that the peculiar sensation of sound travels from the lower abdomen to the head, but spreads throughout the entire body.)
- I feel the life of the world stirring in my head in my warmth.
(Make sure that the peculiar sensation of life spreads from the head to the whole body.)
To Helene v. Grunelius for the doctors
What I am now writing on the board is not for you to know, but to stimulate this revitalization of your medical sense again and again. It is something like this:
You healing spirits
You connect yourselves
To the blessing of sulfur
Of the scent of ether;
You enliven yourselves
In the ascent of Mercury
The dewdrop
Of the growing
And becoming.
You find support
In the salts of the earth
That nourishes the roots
In the soil. —
This is, in a sense, what the soul acquires by looking at its surroundings, awakening the inner meaning of what surrounds it. Man can then respond:
I want to connect my soul's knowledge
To the fire
Of the scent of flowers;
I want to stir my soul life
With the sparkling drops
Of the morning leaves;
I want to strengthen my soul being
With the
Salt-hardening
With which the earth
Carefully nourishes the roots.

You are the soul
The body is God's
Being within you
In your soul
Dwells the spirit
In your body
The spirit dwells within
But let the spirit in the body
Rule as God
And let the spirit in the soul
Rule as the self
For if the spirit of your soul
Takes your body as its power
Then you are physically ill
And if the spirit of your body Takes your soul as its power Then you are sick in your soul.

Look into your soul
Luminous power
Feel in your body
The power of heaviness
In the power of light
The spirit-ego shines
In the power of heaviness
The spirit of God is powerful
But the power of light
Must not
Be seized
the power of heaviness
Nor should
the power of heaviness
penetrate
the power of light
For if the power of light
grasps the power of heaviness
and the power of heaviness
penetrates the power of light
then they bind
Soul and body
Into corruption. —

At the threshold
Darkness of the senses and light of the spirit
Flow into each other in a dazzling spectacle
The image of this spectacle
Is the disease
In the disease lives the guardian.
Encounter in the spirit conscious
Encounter in the body unconscious.

It was in ancient times,
There lived in the souls of the initiated
The powerful thought that sick
By nature is every human being.
And education was regarded
As equal to the healing process
Which, with the maturing of the child
Brought health at the same time
For the completion of human life.

Look at what fits together cosmically,
You perceive the formation of human beings. ☾
Look at what moves you in the air,
You experience the soul of humanity. ⊙
Look at what is changing on earth,
You grasp the spiritualization of humanity. ♄

Feel in the measure of fever
The gift of Saturn's spirit
Feel in the number of pulses
The soul power of the sun
Feel in the weight of matter
The formative power of the moon:
Then you will see in your desire to heal
Also the healing needs of earthly human beings.
V. Dornach, April 24, 1924
Push the early years
Into the age of childhood
And the age of childhood
Into the age of youth:
You will see condensed
the etheric being of human beings
behind their physical bodies —
Push the density of old age
into the time of human maturity
and the age of maturity
into the life of youth:
You will hear in the sounds of the world
the workings of human souls
from the etheric life.
V. Dornach, April 25, 1924
Feel the thinking!
It has lost:
the burdens of the earth
the weaving of the air
the shining of the cosmos.
Strengthen the thinking!
It will win:
the burdens of the earth will be very light
the weaving of the air will be stronger
the shining of the cosmos will be full of life.
Feel the will!
It has lost:
the work of the cosmos
the speech of the air
the senses of the earth.
Strengthen the will!
It will prevail:
the workings of the cosmos will be clearly audible
the speech of the air will be almost intelligible
the senses of the earth will be quietly alive.

From ancient sacred places of sacrifice
Healing arts once flowed
Into human creation
Remember your revelation:
Tell it at the new place of healing.
And give spirit-bearing human souls
hearing to your mysterious call
So they will
bring healing
creating
in the web of human life.
I will seek the power of the spirit's ears
in a loving heart
to hear the call.

Spoken by Mercury-Raphael
I) Behold an ancient custom:
In a place holy and dignified
Flames arise, capturing hidden earthly forces,
Carrying them in Mercury's fiery serpent seal
Towards the gods —
That in healers may be created
What in the depths of crevices
What in the blowing of the air
What in the rays of light
Banishes the evils of the earth. —
II) Renew the old custom:
Say what is reborn
In a new place of healing
Through your striving:
And give spirit-borne human souls
Hearing to your thoughts
Over newly kindled fire serpent seals
And if they want to create healing
In the fabric of human life.
They may vow to you:
I will awaken the power of the spirit's ears
In a loving heart
To hear your healing words.

For the internal circle of physicians
In the heart dwells
In shining brightness
Of the human being
Helping spirit.
In the heart works
In warming power
Of the human being
Helping power.
So let us carry
The soul's full will
In the warmth of the heart
And in the light of our hearts,
Thus we bring
Salvation
To those in need of salvation
Through God's grace.

Live in the spirit,
In the soul
Finding oneself, weaving:
The self is at work,
And carries in the sun's rays
To the creative power of the world
The human being truly.
For Pastor Paul Klein
1914/15
Feeling in need of YOUR grace,
Christ, light of the world, I wait
with all my strength
opening the gates of my soul
to YOUR enlightenment
I will be still within myself
and thank YOU for YOUR gift
and give it
as YOUR gift to people
I want to be an instrument of YOUR word
with my soul
my best efforts
my true depths
my quietest reverence.

To YOU
Bearer of the Word of the World
be directed
my soul
opening itself to YOUR
gate of grace,
YOUR
gate of love;
Send the Spirit,
Who carries
YOUR word
Enlightenment
YOUR word
Warmth of love
YOUR word
Power of the heart
Into my soul.
Silence reigns within me
Silence weaves through me
That I may hear
THE VOICE OF YOUR SPIRIT
THE WISE GUIDANCE OF YOUR SPIRIT
That may speak
from me
Whom YOU deemed worthy
me
To place
in the depths of my heart.
Watch over my words
Watch over my thoughts
Watch over YOUR servant
YOUR messenger.
For Pastor Paul Klein
as meditation before the sermon
August 1911
Consciousness fills me,
That I must be a temple
To the Word of the Creator of the World.
May my eyes learn to see in darkness
May my mouth learn to speak in silent peace
May my heart learn to feel in spiritual purity:
I see the spirit of the sun in the soul of the moon,
I speak the word of God in the ears of the earth
I feel the flow of spirit in human blood.

I will walk the path
That dissolves the elements into events
And leads me down to the Father
Who sends illness to balance karma
And leads me upward to the spirit
Which guides the soul in error to gain freedom
Christ leads downward and upward
Harmoniously begetting spiritual man in earthly man.
