The philosopher Robert Zimmermann died on September 1. He taught philosophy at the University of Vienna for more than thirty years. In his views, he was an orthodox disciple of Herbart. From 1848 onwards, he continued to develop the teachings of this philosopher in a considerable number of writings. Aesthetics was his favorite field. He wrote a history of this science and set out his own position in this field in a book.
