The place of the Goetheanum in “Futurum AG”

From the point of view of the management of “Futurum AG”, the Goetheanum is to be regarded as an “economic-spiritual” enterprise, as provided for in $ 2 of the statutes of “Futurum AG” for inclusion in the business sector. (Economically spiritual enterprises such as research institutes, educational institutions, and so on). If the financial strength of Futurum AG allowed, the Goetheanum would have to be included in the business area of Futurum AG as a spiritual enterprise, as has already been done with the clinical-therapeutic institute and the chemical laboratory for remedies. The Goetheanum would then be regarded as a spiritual enterprise of this kind, into which long-term capital is initially invested, the fruits of which might only become apparent after a few years through the spiritual values of individual personalities. If the Goetheanum cannot be included as a spiritual enterprise in the business of Futurum AG, then this is solely due to the practical circumstance that Futurum AG, as a result of its short existence and relatively limited resources, is not in a position to invest larger amounts of capital over the long term.
