22. To the Readers

Due to the long interval between the publication of the previous issue and this one

This issue of the journal has also kept its readers waiting for a long time. Some may have become impatient about it. Some may even have thought that it would no longer appear at all. There is no reason for the latter. For even if it would be good in the sense of the school of thought that the journal serves, if the share in it were much greater than it already is: it can nevertheless be described as one that made the regular appearance of one point of view absolutely necessary. If nothing else were taken into consideration, then a number of this journal would certainly appear before the reader's eyes every month. However, another point of view has made it necessary to have longer intervals between issues. The intellectual current represented in it makes other activities on a large scale necessary for its editor, in addition to the work on the journal (lectures, lecture series, etc.). And it is much more important that this spiritual current be served in the best possible way than that, by pedantically adhering to the publication dates of the journal, harm be done on another side. That it would nevertheless be desirable to adhere to these publication dates is not to be denied. This is all the more the case now, as important spiritual scientific communications must be brought in the next issues. Therefore, the editor will make every effort, as far as circumstances allow, to ensure a more regular publication. Hopefully, there will never again be such a long break as the one between the publication of the previous and this issue.
