80. Notice of the Amsterdam Congress

On June 19, 20 and 21, 1904, a congress of the European Federation of Theosophical Sections will be held in Amsterdam. The main objective of this federation is to cultivate relations between theosophists in European countries. These relations are based, on the one hand, on personal bonds of mutual friendship and respect and, on the other, on the intellectual relationships that arise from shared ideas. Our esteemed member in the Netherlands, Johan van Manen, is in charge of the work for the congress. The chair will be taken by Annie Besant. The congress is open to all members of all sections of the Theosophical Society. Non-members may also attend the meetings designated as “public”.

The Congress will consist of public meetings, general meetings for the transaction of business, and social gatherings. Lectures and discussions will be among the Congress topics.

The goals that the Theosophical Society has set itself with this congress are ambitious; therefore, active participation must be desired. All inquiries for the “German Section” are handled by Miss Marie von Sivers, Berlin W., Motzstraße 17, and, if particularly requested, by the Honorary Secretary of the Congress, Johan van Manen, Hawkswood, Baildon, Yorks, England.

The Secretary General of the German Section: Dr. Rudolf Steiner.
