Exodus

Exodus 20:2-17 (The Ten Commandments) NZ 3480 (1908)

1.) I am the Eternal Divine that you feel within yourself. I led you out of the land of Egypt, where you could not follow Me within yourself. From now on, you shall not place other gods above Me. You shall not recognize as higher gods what an image shows you of something that shines above in the sky, that works out of the earth, or between heaven and earth. You shall not worship what is below the divine within you. For I am the Eternal One within you, and I am a continuing Divine Being; if you do not recognize Me within you, I will disappear as your Divine Being from your children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and their bodies will become desolate; if you recognize Me within you, I will live on as you until the thousandth generation, and the bodies of your people will prosper.

2.) You shall not speak of Me in error within yourself; for every error about the “I” within you will corrupt your body.

3.) You shall separate the workday from the holiday, that your existence may be a reflection of My existence. For that which lives as I in you formed the world in six days, and lived in itself on the seventh day. Therefore, your deeds, and the deeds of your son, and the deeds of your daughter, and the deeds of your servants, and the deeds of your cattle, and the deeds of all that is with you, shall be directed toward the outside world for only six days; but on the seventh day, your gaze shall seek Me within you.

4.) Continue to work in the spirit of your father and mother, so that you may inherit the property they have acquired through the power I have formed in them.

5.) Do not murder.

6.) Do not commit adultery.

7.) Do not steal.

8.) Do not disparage your fellow man by saying untrue things about him.

9.) Do not look with envy upon what your fellow man possesses as his property.

10.) Do not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is your neighbor's.

2. Moses 20:2-17 NB Marie Steiner No. 5 (November 1908)

The 10 Commandments.

I. I am the eternal divine that you feel within yourself. I led you out of the land of Egypt, where you could not follow Me within yourself. From now on, you shall not place other gods above Me. You shall not acknowledge as higher gods what an image shows you of something that shines above in the sky, that works out of the earth or between earth and sky. You shall not worship what is of all that is below the divine within you. For I am the eternal one within you, and I am a continuing divine being. If you do not recognize Me within you, I will disappear as your divine being from your children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and their bodies will become desolate. But if you recognize Me in you, I will live on as you until the thousandth generation, and the bodies of your people will flourish.

II. You shall not speak in error about Me in you, for every error about the “I” in you will corrupt your body.

III. You shall separate the workday from the holiday, so that your existence may become the image of My existence. For what lives as I in you formed the world in six days and lived in itself on the seventh day. Therefore, your work and your son's work, your daughter's work, your servants' work, your cattle's work, and the work of those who are with you, should be directed toward the outside world for only six days. But on the seventh day, your gaze should seek Me within you.

IV. Continue to work in the spirit of your father and mother, so that you may retain as your possession the property they acquired through the power I formed in them.

V. Do not murder! Do not interfere with the self of another.

VI. Do not break marriage. Do not interfere with the self of another, which in turn is connected to another human being, another self.

VII. Do not steal. Do not interfere with the property of another that he has acquired through the power of the self.

The next commandments point out how the self of another person can be harmed, because it is not only through deeds and actions that we can interfere in the sphere of our fellow human beings, in the sacred circle of their self, but also through words, thoughts, and feelings. Thoughts and feelings are realities.

VII. Do not belittle your fellow human beings by saying untrue things about them.

IX. Do not look with envy on what your fellow human beings possess as their property.

X. Do not look with envy on your fellow human beings' wives or their positions. Nor should you look with envy upon the assistants and other beings through whom he finds his way forward.

Explanation: We should have such esteem for the ego that we do not even say: I would like to have what my neighbor has acquired through the power of his ego.
