Human — Hierophant

Image not included in the drama

HUMAN: Am I unworthy of your word?
You often instruct me
To take in the changing images of life
And let them be fertilized
By the power of words, By the power of words,
Which you advised me to climb
The path of light.

HIEROPHANT: Today you have let a piece of life
Pass over your soul.
Only one thing should now remain
Of all the vicissitudes,
That which has appeared before your eyes.
Like the play of waves on a deep sea,
So shall people be to you,
Rising from the depths of their being.
And your soul shall sink
Into this deep foundation.
You have heard the language of the external.
Step out of the external
And hear the language of abundance —
And you will see,
How in the depths appears,
What on the surface
Ripple so lightly.
You are as if dead in full life;
Over the years
You have come to know fear,
As even the ordinary mortals
Do not suspect.
You have lived through fears
That would kill some people.
What is otherwise called life
With all its striving and rushing,
With all the joys and deceptions
Of love and hate,
What one experiences in terrible strokes of fate,
It is little compared to
What your soul goes through
In the struggle between light and darkness. You have lost your strength,
You have paralyzed your thinking,
You have become insensitive —
And I myself, who have guided you,
Am often just a human being to you,
In whom you no longer have the strength to believe.
But only your powers are asleep,
And like the sleeping soul
Refreshes the tired body every day
With the power of the spirit realm,
So too are the powers of eternity
In your paralyzed limbs.
You shall awaken them,
And your being will be renewed,
Your death will be the revealer
Of your life of light.
I leave you to yourself.

MAN: He leaves me alone.
I will live in the echo
Of his words
And hope that in my vision
The powers will awaken
That must work within me,
Since they have killed
What I have possessed until now.
