Attention should be paid to the training of this faculty during all the previous stages; for it now remains to be proved whether the candidate is shaping in a way that shows him to be fit for the truth path of knowledge. Further progress is now only possible if he is able to distinguish illusion, superstition, and everything fantastic, from true reality. This is, at first, more difficult to accomplish in the higher stages of existence than in the lower. Every prejudice, every cherished opinion with regard to the things in question, must vanish; truth alone must guide. There must be perfect readiness to abandon at once any idea, opinion, or inclination when logical thought demands it. Certainty in higher worlds is only likely to be attained when personal opinion is never considered.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Initiation","site_heading":null,"date":null,"location":null,"word_count":151,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/10/c02-4/p016","alignment_confidence":"medium","alignment_reason":"beads:structural_identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":null,"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["HR1960","MAC1909","RSPC1947"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/10/l03/p016","locus":"GA 10/l03/p016","anchor_mapped":true,"anchor_method":"curated","anchor_confidence":"high"},{"lang":"en","edition":"RSPC1947","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/10/c02-4/p016","paragraph_aligned":true},{"lang":"en","edition":"HR1960","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":false,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/10/l06/p016?edition=HR1960","locus":"GA 10/l06/p016","anchor_mapped":true,"anchor_method":"curated","anchor_confidence":"high"}],"german_anchor":{"de_prefix":"l03","de_passages":[{"locus":"GA 10/l03/p016","url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/10/l03/p016"}],"bead_confidence":"medium","length_check":{"de_words":153,"en_words":151,"ratio":0.99,"partial":false},"correspondence":"established","note":"English passage numbering is edition-relative, so the same number need not name the same paragraph in the German.
