Such a religious system emerged in various areas, for example in ancient Indian Brahmanism. The last echoes of this can be found in Vedanta philosophy; but we also find the last echoes of this ancient pantheism in the oldest philosophical systems. It was a kind of esoteric pantheism, as we can see in ancient Brahmanism. It also comes to light in the actual system of the Egyptians, and also among the Hebrews. In reality, we can imagine that this religious system originated from the fact that a more comprehensive idea of the divine essence, which permeated and flowed through everything, gradually emerged. The ancestor had grown together with the spiritual foundations of existence; he had become a kind of spiritual primal power.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"An Outline of Religious Ideas in post-Atlantean Times","site_heading":null,"date":"1908-05-13","location":null,"word_count":152,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/102/1908-05-13/p007","alignment_confidence":"high","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"Singles","book_title":null,"publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA102/English/Singles/19080513p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/102/1908-05-13/p007"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/102/1908-05-13/p007","paragraph_aligned":true}],"record":{"record_type":"unknown","scope":"volume","note":"How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here.
