This continued up to a particular moment, later characterized as the point when the sun stood in the sign of the Scorpion. Then it was that Typhon, or Set, killed his brother Osiris by inducing him to lay himself down in a chest, which Typhon then closed and committed to the sea. Isis, the sister and wife of Osiris, searched for her brother and husband, and after finding him brought him to Egypt. But the evil Typhon, still striving for the destruction of Osiris, cut him in pieces. Isis gathered the fragments together and buried them in various places. (Various graves of Osiris are still shown in Egypt.) Then Isis bore Horus, who avenged his father on Typhon. Osiris was now again admitted into the world of the divine spiritual beings and is no longer active on earth, but he aids men when they sojourn in the spiritual world between death and a new birth. Therefore in Egypt the path of the dead was called the way to Osiris.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Seventh Lecture","site_heading":"Cosmic Evolution of Human Form Through Osiris-Isis","site_heading_note":"A heading the site wrote for this unit from a summary of it; not in the edition, and not the words of Rudolf Steiner or of the translator. Daher stellte man sich auch den Weg des Toten in Ägypten vor als den Weg zum Osiris.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":199,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/106/1908-09-09/p004"}],"english":["GA 106/1908-09-09/p006"],"method":"length","confidence":"medium","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":199,"en_words":182,"ratio":0.91,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"proposed","verified":false},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.01,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":3678,"original_word_count":3628,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Norman MacBeth","identified_edition":"AP1971","book_title":"Egyptian Myths and Mysteries","publisher":"Anthroposophic Press","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA106/English/AP1971/19080909p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
