Basically, every human being is a limited and isolated being. It was Christ who gave humanity the first impulse towards spiritual brotherhood. Through this impulse, people were to be brought closer together, and a bond was to be formed between souls that would gradually awaken a sense of belonging between different peoples over the centuries. Before Christ, nothing like this had been possible. Love did exist, but it was in the blood and never extended beyond the family and tribe within which all marital ties were formed. But if self-awareness was to be developed, this point of view had to be abandoned.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Sixth Lecture","site_heading":"Astral Encounters and Christ's Transformative Spiritual Power","site_heading_note":"A heading the site wrote for this unit from a summary of it; not in the edition, and not the words of Rudolf Steiner or of the translator. Aber wenn das Ich-Bewusstsein entwickelt werden sollte, musste dieser Standpunkt aufgegeben werden.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":133,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/117a/1910-01-10/p022"}],"english":["GA 117a/1910-01-10/p022"],"method":"length","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":133,"en_words":131,"ratio":0.98,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"proposed","verified":false},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.07,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":3323,"original_word_count":3119,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"The Gospel of John and the Three Other Gospels","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA117a/English/SOL2024/19100110p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
