In the first third, the person works towards his physical body; in the last third of life, he feeds on his physical body again; in the middle third of life, the soul is, so to speak, left to its own devices. This middle period must, as it seems understandable, correspond to the period of purification after death. There the soul is free of the physical body and etheric or life body and is in a similar relationship to its spiritual environment as in the second third of life.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"The Human Being's Journey Through the World of the Senses, Soul and Spirit","site_heading":null,"date":"1910-03-21","location":null,"word_count":100,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/119/1910-03-21/p017","alignment_confidence":"high","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"Singles","book_title":null,"publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA119/English/Singles/19100321p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/119/1910-03-21/p017"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/119/1910-03-21/p017","paragraph_aligned":true}],"record":{"record_type":"unknown","scope":"volume","note":"How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here.
