But it is also there that all the impulses that the human being has brought into the spiritual world are transformed into living archetypes. We saw that the human being entered the spiritual world with an essence of the etheric or life body, that is, with an essence of all the experiences he has had between birth and death. We see the human being entering the spiritual world with that mighty impulse that allows him to make amends for the wrongs he has done. The human being weaves this together into a spiritual archetype. And the time he spends in the spiritual world passes in such a way that this image is woven more and more so that it receives the fruits of the previous life and the urge, the will to make amends for the wrong, the ugliness he has done, more and more interwoven. And so, during that time, the human being is able, on the one hand, to plastically shape into the body that is made available to him for re-embodiment all the abilities he has acquired in previous lives, and, on the other hand, because he has woven into his original image has woven into his image the urge, the impulse to make good what he has done that was wrong, ugly, evil, attracted by circumstances that allow him to make up for this wrong, this ugliness that he has done. We enter into existence through birth with the will to enter into such circumstances that allow us to make up for imperfections in our previous life. Thus, through a hidden will, we seek out pain in appropriate cases when we have the unconscious realization, arising from our prenatal urge, that only by overcoming this pain can we remove certain obstacles that we have previously placed in our way.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"The Human Being's Journey Through the World of the Senses, Soul and Spirit","site_heading":null,"date":"1910-03-21","location":null,"word_count":335,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/119/1910-03-21/p032","alignment_confidence":"high","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"Singles","book_title":null,"publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA119/English/Singles/19100321p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/119/1910-03-21/p032"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/119/1910-03-21/p032","paragraph_aligned":true}],"record":{"record_type":"unknown","scope":"volume","note":"How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here.
