Only the clairvoyant can know how it works, but everyone experiences the consequences in their everyday life. A person who performs many actions for which he cannot morally answer, and who becomes grumpy as a result, will be particularly vulnerable to pain in difficult life situations. If, on the other hand, a person can say to himself in the face of the same incidents: They are of little consequence compared to my inner experiences, my ideals – then this certainty will have a healing effect. He will then always hold fast to that which lives in him as the eternal. Just as a person can have good moods, so can he also be exposed to bad moods that may go through his whole life and never let him be happy, that dominate the whole inner soul structure. The spiritual researcher says: Such moods have an effect in the supersensible nature of man; in the etheric body such moods have an effect, are reflected in the physical body and affect the blood. The effect of a mood in the human etheric body is felt in the blood, and the result is that such a mood, which does not allow a person to be happy throughout his life, impairs blood circulation and makes his blood heavy. Here we have an example of how the effects of what is going on in the soul can be felt in the physical body. Even someone who is not clairvoyant can notice this and say to themselves: I suffer from my physicality. This comes from my overall mood. Wie der Mensch gute Stimmungen haben kann, so kann er auch schlechten Stimmungen ausgesetzt sein, die vielleicht durch sein ganzes Leben gehen und ihn niemals froh werden lassen, die das ganze innere Seelengefüge beherrschen. Da sagt der Geistesforscher: Solche Stimmungen wirken sich aus in der übersinnlichen Natur des Menschen; im Ätherleib wirken sich solche Stimmungen aus, drücken sich ab auf den physischen Leib und wirken auf das Blut. Dadurch daß eine Stimmung im menschlichen Ätherleib sich auswirkt, wird auf das Blut gewirkt, und die Folge davon ist, daß eine solche Stimmung, die den Menschen nicht froh werden läßt sein ganzes Leben lang, die Blutzirkulation beeinträchtigt, sein Blut schwer macht. Hier haben wir ein solches Beispiel, wo wir sagen können: Die Wirkung dessen, was in der Seele vorgeht, geht in den physischen Leib hinein. Auch der Mensch, der nicht hellsehend ist, kann das bemerken und kann sich sagen: Ich leide unter meiner Körperlichkeit. Das kommt aus meiner Gesamtstimmung.
