Dazu gehört ein freier Blick für das Leben und ein gesundes Urteil über dasselbe. In unserer Zeit ist das Leben komplizierter, als es im vorhergehenden Zeitalter war. Selbst in heute kurz hinter uns liegenden Zeiträumen war es noch viel weniger kompliziert. Das lag in den einfachen Verhältnissen. Damals waren das Gemüt und die damit zusammenhängenden Eigenschaften weiter verbreitet in der Menschheit als heute. Aber auch vieles andere ist wesentlich verändert. Und wir alle stehen drinnen in diesem veränderten Leben und müssen versuchen, die Lebenssphäre, in der wir stehen, so zu durchdringen, wie es erforderlich ist.
