This is the case with our eurythmy, which must not be confused with any of the physical, sporting, gymnastic or dance endeavors that have emerged from the materialistic age, but which is rather singled out from our spiritual endeavors, so that people can experience in the most direct and intimate way how the spirit works, especially in this sphere. I have already shown from various sides how this eurythmy came about. The aim was to give humanity something that, I would say, already shows the spirit of evolution in an outward sense. This could only be done if it was clear that we also live in a world of forms in our immediate life and that progress is a penetration into the world of movement. The world of forms dominates our physical body, the world of movement dominates our etheric body. We must now find the movements that are innate to the etheric body. The human being must be guided to express in gestures, in movements of the physical body, that which is natural to the etheric body.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"An Age of Expectation","site_heading":null,"date":"1914-10-07","location":null,"word_count":208,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/156/1914-10-07/p045","alignment_confidence":"high","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"Singles","book_title":null,"publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA156/English/Singles/19141007p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line"},"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["English"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/156/1914-10-07/p045"},{"lang":"en","edition":"English","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/156/1914-10-07/p045","paragraph_aligned":true}],"record":{"record_type":"unknown","scope":"volume","note":"How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here.
