Our spiritual element has remained back in our childhood. We always look toward this if we wish to understand things correctly. And humanity ought to be instructed to look toward what the spirit out of the heights can say: “Let the little children come to me.” Not adults, who are connected with the earth, but rather the little children. In having been given the festival of Christmas in addition to the Mystery of Golgotha, humanity ought to be instructed in this. Otherwise the Mystery of Golgotha would only need to have been conferred on humanity in relation to the last three years of Christ's life, when Christ was in the body of Jesus of Nazareth.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"A Christmas Thought and the Secret of the Ego","site_heading":null,"date":"1915-12-19","location":null,"word_count":133,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/157a/1915-12-19/p024","alignment_confidence":"high","alignment_reason":"beads:length","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"G.
