And we have spoken of the fact that the Mystery of Golgotha, perceptible for all human beings on the stage of history, has presented the super-sensible mystery. There is something that fundamentally unites us with the true Christ thought. We have this by virtue of the fact that we are able to have moments in our life (I am now speaking directly, not in a pictorial way) in which, despite everything we are in the outer world, we can bring alive in us what we received as a child. We can do this by going backward, feeling ourselves back at the child's standpoint? we can do this by looking toward the human being as he develops between birth and death, so that we are able to sense within us what we received as a child.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"A Christmas Thought and the Secret of the Ego","site_heading":null,"date":"1915-12-19","location":null,"word_count":162,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/157a/1915-12-19/p045","alignment_confidence":"high","alignment_reason":"beads:length","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"G.
