A thought of this kind is actually only developed in the etheric body; it then comes up against the physical body and there makes impressions all over the brain. If we call up before our souls the essential feature of everyday thinking we can say: It rests on our thinking in the etheric body, and on what is thus thought sinking into the nervous system of the brain; there it makes impressions which do not, however, go very deep but rebound. In this way the thinking is reflected and thus enters our consciousness. A thought therefore consists above all in our having it in our soul as far as the etheric body; it then makes an impression on the physical brain, but cannot enter it and has to rebound. These reflected thoughts we perceive. Then physiology comes along and points to the traces which have appeared in the physical brain.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Lecture II","site_heading":"Three Kinds of Clairvoyance and Spiritual Consciousness","site_heading_note":"A heading the site wrote for this unit from a summary of it; not in the edition, and not the words of Rudolf Steiner or of the translator. Und da kommt die Physiologie her und zeigt die Spuren, die im physischen Gehirn darinnen entstanden sind.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":157,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/161/1915-05-01/p038"}],"english":["GA 161/1915-05-01/p036"],"method":"length","confidence":"medium","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":157,"en_words":157,"ratio":1.0,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"proposed","verified":false},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":0.92,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":5676,"original_word_count":6145,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"not_established","translator":null,"identified_edition":"LRZ140","book_title":"Meditation and Concentration: Three Kinds of Clairvoyance","publisher":null,"publisher_inferred":false,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA161/English/LRZ140/19150501p02.html","evidence":null,"reason":"no_translator_named","note":"Neither the lecture's own page nor rsarchive's lecture list names a translator for it.
