Today, wherever one hears about this spiritual science, one often does not yet look hard enough at how different this relationship of the human soul to spiritual science is supposed to be from the relationship of any other knowledge, any other insight, to this human soul. Spiritual science, as it is meant here, is indeed such that it speaks to the human soul in a completely different way than any other knowledge. Through any other knowledge, one gets to know this or that; one learns something about one or the other in the world; one then knows more than one knew before. Spiritual science does not relate to the human soul in such a way that it would only convey something that one knows afterwards. Spiritual science appeals to much deeper impulses of the human soul than mere knowledge, than mere thinking. Spiritual science seizes, or at least wants to seize, the deepest being in us, which, coming from spiritual worlds, moves into our human earthly being at birth and which this human earthly being then leaves in death to pass over into the spiritual worlds to other tasks. Only when we have a true intuitive grasp of this relationship between spiritual science and the outer world, and between the spiritual science and human life, shall we be able to comprehend the full significance of spiritual science for the human soul.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"III. Geisteswissenschaft wird man nur dann in ihrer vollen Bedeutung für die Menschenseele erfassen können, wenn man dieses ihr wirkliches Verhältnis zur äußeren Welt und zum menschlichen Leben auch ganz gefühlsmäßig ins Auge faßt.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":237,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/182/1918-04-29/p003"}],"english":["GA 182/1918-04-29/p003"],"method":"identity","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":237,"en_words":263,"ratio":1.11,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","meaning","audit"]},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.04,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":7548,"original_word_count":7273,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"Death as a Way of Life","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA182/English/SOL2024/19180429p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
