But just as the Romans learned the Twelve Tables, just as it was later customary to regard the multiplication table as something necessary for a human being, so in the not too distant future, which we must work towards, it will be necessary to have such elementary concepts of human development in general education. Otherwise, every fifteen years or so, there will be a catastrophe in the development of civilized humanity, such as we have had in the last five to six years. The fact that people have closed themselves off to what is about to break in as a new development in civilized humanity is the real reason for the confusion that has arisen in the last five to six years. And if people want to continue living out of their dried-up materialized bodies, then they will, all by themselves, concoct properties out of this dried-up, materialized body, which every fifteen to twenty years lead to such confusion as the confusion we had in Europe in 1914. Und wollen die Menschen weiter aus ihrem vertrockneten materialisierten Leibe heraus leben, so werden sie ganz von selber aus diesem vertrockneten, materialisierten Leibe heraus Eigenschaften aushecken, welche alle fünfzehn bis zwanzig Jahre zu einer solchen Verwirrung führen, wie die Verwirrung, die wir 1914 in Europa gehabt haben.
