But the present trend of natural science is as far removed as possible from embarking upon the sort of investigation which would be necessary in this case. Of course one cannot escape, through the study of anatomy and physiology alone, the foolish conclusion that the liver and lungs may be investigated by the same method. One lays the liver beside the lungs upon the dissecting table and regards them as organs of equal value, since both consist of cells, and so on. In such a way one can obtain no knowledge of these things, and two organic systems which are as different from one another as the lungs and liver cannot be studied by an external comparison of their cellular configuration, as they must be according to present ideas.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"V. Da kann man überhaupt nichts herausbekommen über diese Dinge, und zwei Organsysteme, die so voneinander verschieden sind wie Lunge und Leber, die kann man nicht bloß auf ihre Konfiguration aus Zellen heraus so äußerlich studieren, wie das notwendigerweise nach den heutigen Anschauungen geschehen muß.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":176,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/205/1921-07-02/p004"}],"english":["GA 205/1921-07-02/p006"],"method":"length","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":176,"en_words":172,"ratio":0.98,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"proposed","verified":false},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":0.99,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":6018,"original_word_count":6058,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"May Laird-Brown","identified_edition":"AP1946","book_title":"Psychoanalysis in the Light of Anthroposophy","publisher":"Anthroposophic Press","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/Psych/English/AP1946/19210702p02.html","evidence":"lecture_list_row","note":"rsarchive's lecture list spells the credit 'Mary Laird-Brown'; the lecture pages of this edition print 'May Laird-Brown', which is served.","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
