The rhythmic system is like the scene that unfolds itself if canvas and painter are imaged by us at the conception of the picture. The picture is not yet there, but it comes more and more into being. In studying the rhythmic system, we have to do with a perpetual process of becoming. A thing that has already come into existence remains in existence, for a time at any rate. But when we study the human rhythmic system we find the process of becoming, the upbuilding process, followed directly and without a gap by the passing out of existence, the destructive process. In the rhythmic system there manifests itself a picture, coming into existence, but never finished nor complete.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"On the Picture Nature of Man","site_heading":null,"date":null,"location":null,"word_count":129,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/26/a02/p011","alignment_confidence":"low","alignment_reason":"no_original_to_compare","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":null,"edition_coverage":{"de":["original"],"en":["APC1956","RSP1973"]},"available_versions":[{"lang":"en","edition":"RSP1973","edition_basis":null,"is_original":false,"is_default_edition":true,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/26/a02/p011"},{"lang":"de","edition":"original","edition_basis":null,"is_original":true,"is_default_edition":true,"locus":"GA 26/l31/p011","anchor_mapped":true,"anchor_method":"positional","anchor_confidence":"medium","url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/26/l31/p011"}],"other_renderings":{"loci":[{"locus":"GA 260a/1924-05-18","ga":"260a","lecture":"1924-05-18","kind":"excerpt","relation":"an excerpt or summary of the same lecture, or the lecture this unit excerpts"}],"note":"The same lecture is also served at the loci listed, each with how it relates to this one.
