Record: listeners' notes. Written from listeners' notes, summaries, or memory rather than a shorthand transcript. The wording is the note-taker's as much as Steiner's: weigh a single striking phrase here far more cautiously than the same phrase in a stenographic volume, and do not rest an argument on one word. Evidence: «Nach Erinnerungsaufzeichnungen von Teilnehmenden» (From participants' records written from memory). Rudolf Steiner Verlag Gesamtverzeichnis 2022, volume subtitle. The translation is the maintainer's, not a published one.

Every object in a complete temple not only has its own special significance, but it must also be there for the purpose of stimulating and effecting that which makes it possible to draw the stream of those entities to our temple, whom we call the wise masters of the East. They then pour this stream out on us, and so we are enabled to receive those spiritual teachings that are necessary for human development. Without such reception, nothing could be done for the spiritual development of humanity; from here, what has been received should flow on to the other people.
