Much higher spiritual hierarchies work in this element, which the guardian angel also brings with him, than in the paternal element. Thus man passes through birth into existence, and we see how he, as a child, lives entirely in the pure supersensible forces until the time when he begins to slowly unfold his own ego. Then, little by little, the child's own ego rebels more and more against the guardian angel; this betrays the child, the paternal element.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":104,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/265a/1912-05-09/p046","witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2025","book_title":"Lessons for the Participants of Cognitive-Cultic Work 1906–1924","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA265a/English/SOL2025/19120509fm.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
