Esoteric Lesson
What was said yesterday about the inexpressible word that is heard in meditation and that points toward the East should not be imagined as something that represents a sound that has anything in common with human language. What one hears as vowels, as articulated sounds, is precisely what one has put into it oneself. Nothing that is seen or heard in the spiritual world, no sound, no color, has anything in common with the things of this physical world. When we look at the color red, for example, the color is something that belongs to us; it represents what we ourselves are not yet. Red in the spiritual world means love. So when we see red, it means that we have not yet developed love within ourselves.
