Record: listeners' notes. Written from listeners' notes, summaries, or memory rather than a shorthand transcript. The wording is the note-taker's as much as Steiner's: weigh a single striking phrase here far more cautiously than the same phrase in a stenographic volume, and do not rest an argument on one word. Evidence: «Gedächtnisaufzeichnungen von Teilnehmern» (Participants' records written from memory). Rudolf Steiner Verlag Gesamtverzeichnis 2022, volume subtitle. The translation is the maintainer's, not a published one.

Only that which we do in the name of another, in the name of that within us which we can call our God, does not originate from egoism. In order to feel this God within us, we must permeate ourselves with the awareness that we are only an image of the archetype according to which this God created us, and that only slowly and gradually can that image be transformed into the archetype. The archetype is our true self, which was formed in embryo on ancient Saturn, and it is this that confronts us when we utter our Rosicrucian formula. The Rosy Cross is the symbol that shows us the way to ascend into the spiritual world. When viewed in the spiritual world, the black of the cross is seen as white—the counter-image of the image—and the red roses are transformed into a brilliant green color.
