Lesson XVII

GA 270/1924-07-05/p059 ·1924-07-05 · English LowLow alignmentMost translators re-paragraphed Steiner substantially. The locus identifies the same chapter or section, but paragraph-N to paragraph-N mapping is loose. For exact-quotation precision, compare with the German.
This passage is not Rudolf Steiner — the editor. This passage is an editor's footnote or endnote ([^n]: marker), NOT lecture text. Any Steiner words inside it are the editor's report of a variant or shorthand and must not be quoted as the lecture.
Record: unknown. How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here. Unknown is not an assurance of a stenogram: check the edition's own notes before resting an argument on one word.

[^2]: Farbenbogen: The word rainbow (Regenbogen) does not appear in the verse. Farbenbogen translates as iris. (Refer to Louis De Vries German-English Science Dictionary by McGraw-Hill 1946.) The Greek caduceus-carrying goddess of the rainbow was Iris, who carried the thoughts of men to the gods. The only other caduceus-carrier was Hermes, who carried the thoughts of the gods to human beings.
