Lesson XIX

GA 270/1924-08-02/p087 ·1924-08-02 · English LowLow alignmentMost translators re-paragraphed Steiner substantially. The locus identifies the same chapter or section, but paragraph-N to paragraph-N mapping is loose. For exact-quotation precision, compare with the German.
This passage is not Rudolf Steiner — the editor. This passage is an editor's footnote or endnote ([^n]: marker), NOT lecture text. Any Steiner words inside it are the editor's report of a variant or shorthand and must not be quoted as the lecture.
Record: unknown. How this text was taken down (shorthand transcript, listeners' notes or manuscript) is not on record here. Unknown is not an assurance of a stenogram: check the edition's own notes before resting an argument on one word.

[^1]: Urseins Liebe-Quell: Ursein is primordial existence, before the separation of substance and semblance. Der Quell is the source (and paired with love is the never-ending source), and only poetically wellspring or fountainhead. (Fount is an archaic poetical contraction of fountain in order to maintain the meter. Font is a static collection of typesetting styles, and also a vessel containing holy water in a church. Both should be avoided.)
