It is just the same, however, when you observe, when you hear… Imagine, you are a single great sense organ, you remain on the floor of the earth, while the earth below bears you up. It is just the same as touching something with your finger, just so you touch the earth with your entire body as you stand and walk. It is only because it has become so habitual that a person doesn’t say it this way. What is customary, habitual a person must in turn emerge from in esoteric development. A person must learn to find himself to be a sort of finger touching, tasting the earth. The entire person himself becomes a sensory organ.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Notes from the Second Lesson in London","site_heading":null,"date":"1924-08-27","location":null,"word_count":127,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/270/1924-08-27/p010","alignment_confidence":"low","alignment_reason":"no_original_to_compare","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"John Riedel","identified_edition":"SOL2023","book_title":"Esoteric Instructions","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA270/English/SOL2023/19240827-JR.html","evidence":"lecture_list_row","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
