What is otherwise expressed partially in the larynx is represented by the whole human being in the individual movements. It is something that can be read in the whole human being. In addition to the movements of the larynx and so on, there are also effects in the lungs and other organs. These have a subtle effect, giving timbre, fundamental tone, and emotional content to speech. These are restrained movements. This happens through the whole movement of the eurythmist, an individual or even a group, a choir. In group movements, we release what are otherwise restrained movements. This is the basis of eurythmy.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Address on Eurythmy","site_heading":null,"date":"1918-06-28","location":null,"word_count":140,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/277a/1918-06-28/p008","alignment_confidence":"medium","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"The Origin and Development of Eurythmy 1912–1918","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA277a/English/SOL2024/19180628p01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
