This provides an essential didactic and pedagogical element. And in many other respects, it will be seen that this eurythmy can perhaps give the people of the present age what cannot come from any other source. What people thought of before this war broke out! They thought of staging the Olympic Games. It is just as if, at a certain age, people were given not what is good for them, but something that is good for a completely different age. Today, everything is seen only in the abstract and intellectually, in terms of current affairs, and not in terms of effect. The Olympic Games were a natural thing for what people needed in that age. Today we need something quite different from the Olympic Games. Today we need something that also places the human being in the whole world context in a soul-spiritual way. And so the Olympic Games and all the ideas that aim at something similar are nothing more than a certain dilettantism in relation to human cultural development.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"71. Und so sind die olympischen Spiele und alle die Gedanken, die auf Ähnliches hinzielen, nichts anderes als ein gewisser Dilettantismus gegenüber der menschlichen Kulturentwicklung.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":186,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/277b/1920-07-11/p017"}],"english":["GA 277b/1920-07-11/p017"],"method":"identity","confidence":"medium","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":186,"en_words":192,"ratio":1.03,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","meaning","anchors","audit"]},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.0,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":2074,"original_word_count":2078,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"The Origin and Development of Eurythmy 1918–1920","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA277b/English/SOL2024/19200711e01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
