One is called the Bimbam theory and the other the Wauwau theory. Well, these theories have been advocated by learned people, and you could, of course, read more about them in the works of Max Müller, the Oxford professor, than what I am telling you now. But essentially, the Bimbam theory assumes that, just as the sound of a bell strikes from within the outer object, so too – not always through hearing, but through the perception of the other senses – is it with the processes and things of the outside world that humans are able to empathize with them. Now, this is not as external as the Bimbam theory suggests, but it comes about through the inner intimate communion that the ego and astral body always enter into when they are separated from the outside world.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Eurythmy Performance","site_heading":null,"date":"1923-07-22","location":null,"word_count":160,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/277d/1923-07-22/p014","alignment_confidence":"medium","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2025","book_title":"The Origin and Development of Eurythmy 1923–1925","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA277d/English/SOL2025/19230722e01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
