They no longer have the whole world with them in sound. They no longer experience how language was originally drawn out of the soul in human development, in that sound as such is the expression of the emotional content, the emotional experience of the soul. Today, we only really feel this in the sounds of feeling, in the interjections, when we express our amazement in an “oh” or “o” when we have grasped the feeling within us of what can be felt in this way — when we have grasped something — which can be expressed in the “i.” This picturesque quality of sound can be reawakened, however, by returning to the imaginative and musical.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Eurythmy Performance","site_heading":null,"date":"1923-07-29","location":null,"word_count":136,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/277d/1923-07-29/p008","alignment_confidence":"medium","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2025","book_title":"The Origin and Development of Eurythmy 1923–1925","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA277d/English/SOL2025/19230729e01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
