What the child experiences inside is completely chaotic. This is also reflected in its external movements; they are chaotic, they are disoriented, they express what is going on in the soul of the very small child in a dreamlike, chaotic way. And when the small child encounters what it experiences in the outer world, what bubbles up chaotically in the soul is, in a sense, smoothed out by what is experienced in the outer world. Now, the child would actually like to first translate everything it experiences into movement according to its inner organization. If it has a pleasant impression, it wants to perform a kind of movement that caresses the world; if it has an unpleasant impression, it wants to perform a kind of thrust.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Eurythmy Performance","site_heading":null,"date":"1924-04-21","location":null,"word_count":157,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/277d/1924-04-21/p007","alignment_confidence":"medium","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2025","book_title":"The Origin and Development of Eurythmy 1923–1925","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA277d/English/SOL2025/19240421e01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
