The soul no longer lives entirely in language, but in enthusiasm, which is usually something generally nebulous; what the poet wants actually lives there. That is brought out. Enthusiasm made pictorial, made truly pictorial in human beings—that is eurythmy again. So that when a poem is presented here, you can also say: what lives in the poet's enthusiasm – and when we think of enthusiasm, we imagine something generally nebulous – is brought to life, made vivid, and emerges in the arm and hand movements, in the leg movements of the groups. That is the specific thing that lies behind the whole poem. - And likewise, it is the musical enthusiasm that finds expression in eurythmy. This really comes about through this eurythmy.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Eurythmy Performance","site_heading":null,"date":"1924-04-21","location":null,"word_count":137,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/277d/1924-04-21/p013","alignment_confidence":"medium","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2025","book_title":"The Origin and Development of Eurythmy 1923–1925","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA277d/English/SOL2025/19240421e01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
