When we put sounds together, words arise. When we put together the whole alphabet from beginning to end, there arises a very complicated word. This word contains every possibility of word-formation. It also contains at the same time the human being in his etheric nature. Before man appeared on the earth as a physical being he already existed as an etheric being. For the etheric man underlies the physical man. How then may the etheric man be described? The etheric man is the Word which contains within it the entire alphabet.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"I. Was tun Sie also, indem Sie sprechen, das Alphabet aussprechen? Der ätherische Mensch ist das Wort, das das ganze Alphabet umfaßt.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":339,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/279/1924-06-24/p020"}],"english":["GA 279/1924-06-24/p018","GA 279/1924-06-24/p019"],"method":"length","confidence":"medium","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":339,"en_words":379,"ratio":1.12,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","reader"],"reader_german":["GA 279/1924-06-24/p020"],"reader_part":true},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.12,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":6442,"original_word_count":5736,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Vera Compton-Burnett and Judith Compton-Burnett","identified_edition":"APC1956","book_title":"Eurythmy as Visible Speech","publisher":"Anthroposophical Publishing Co.","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA279/English/APC1956/19240624p02.html","evidence":"lecture_list_row","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
