Through the reproductive instinct he can bring forth forms filled with matter. Now there is another power in man that does not yet enable him to produce lasting forms: that is the power of his speech. By speaking here, I also produce something. If you follow what is happening in this room while I speak, you can follow oscillating air waves. These are nothing other than words set in motion: movement. In the distant past, such words set in motion were also what is expressed today in the reproductive life. What is condensed today was, when it was still spirit, a word set in motion. What man today can only do out of his word as movement will later become truly reproductive power. Imagine you were able to freeze my words in a moment, so that the solidified air waves would fall down. You would find a special form for each word: a different one for “and” than for “God” ; a shell shape, for all I care. When I say “God”, other forms would be there than when I say “and”. Occultism shows us that everything around us in the form of physical objects has really come into being in this way. The spirit of the Logos resounded into space and matter took shape; the rest is a process of solidification. What is around us today are formed words, condensed divine word. The forces within us are condensed divine forces. What was once created through the word is now being transformed into natural forms. Thus, in the course of evolution, the human larynx will become a reptile-reproducing organ. We will not only be able to create movements, but the larynx will become the true reproductive organ. What is language today will become the creator of its own kind. The larynx is the future organ of reproduction, elevated to spirituality; hence, in man, the parallel in sexual development and laryngeal development can already be seen. The transformation of the voice at sexual maturity points to the creative power that will one day develop from the human voice. The true power of reproduction will arise from speech, the conscious power of human beings to bring forth. And just as you know that we give the name fire spirits to the spirits who were our ancestors because they were related to fire as we are to air, so we will develop from an air spirit to a fire spirit again as we ascend. Wenn Sie verfolgen, was in diesem Raume geschieht, während ich spreche, so können Sie schwingende Luftwellen verfolgen. Diese sind nichts anderes als in Bewegung umgesetzte Worte: Bewegung. Solche in Bewegung umgesetzten Worte waren in urferner Vergangenheit auch das, was heute in dem Fortpflanzungsleben sich äußert. Was heute kondensiert ist, war, als es noch Geist war, in Bewegung umgesetztes Wort. Was der Mensch heute aus seinem Worte heraus nur als Bewegung tun kann, wird später wahrhaft Reproduktionskraft sein. Denken Sie sich, Sie wären imstande, meine Worte in einem Momente zum Erstarren zu bringen, so daß die erstarrten Luftwellen herunterfallen würden, so würden Sie für ein jedes Wort eine besondere Form finden: für «und» eine andere als für «Gott» ; eine Muschelform meinetwegen. Wenn ich «Gott» spreche, wären andere Formen da unten, als wenn ich «und» sage. Der Okkultismus zeigt uns, daß alles, was um uns ist an physischen Gegenständen, wirklich so entstanden ist. Der Geist des Logos erklang in den Raum hinein und die Materie formte sich; das Weitere ist ein Erstarrungsprozeß. Was heute um uns herum ist, sind geformte Worte, ist kondensiertes Götterwort. Die Kräfte in uns sind kondensierte göttliche Kräfte. Was früher durch das Wort geschaffen worden ist, ist jetzt umgesetzt in natürliche Formen. So wird im Laufe der Evolution der menschliche Kehlkopf Reptoduktionsorgan werden. Wir werden nicht nur Bewegungen erzeugen können, sondern der Kehlkopf wird das wahre Reproduktionsorgan werden. Was heute Sprache ist, wird der Hervorbringer von seinesgleichen werden. Der Kehlkopf ist das zukünftige, in die Geistigkeit hinaufgehobene Reproduktionsorgan; daher beim Manne jetzt schon die Parallele in der Geschlechtsentwickelung und der Kehlkopfentwickelung. Mit der Umwandlung der Stimme bei der Geschlechtsreife ist hingewiesen auf die schaffende Kraft, die einstmals aus der Stimme des Menschen sich entwickeln wird. Es wird aus der Rede entstehen die wahre Reproduktionskraft, die bewußte Hervorbringungskraft des Menschen. Und wie Sie wissen, daß wir denjenigen Geistern, die unsere Vorfahren waren, den Namen Feuergeister geben, weil sie mit dem Feuer so in Zusammenhang waren, wie wir mit der Luft, so werden wir beim Aufstieg wiederum von einem Luftgeiste zu einem Feuergeiste uns entwickeln.
