His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. And his feet were like glowing coals of a fiery furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. And in his right hand were seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face in its brightness was like the shining sun.” In general images, the most comprehensive secrets of human development are pointed out. If one wanted to present in detail what the seer can see from these images, one would have to write a thick book. Only a few hints are made. Every sign, every form on the seal images is meaningful, and what is said here can only be a little of much. Among the organs and means of expression in the human being, there are some which, in their present form, represent the downward stages of development of earlier forms, and which have thus already passed their degree of perfection. Others, however, represent the initial stages of a development that moves in an ascending direction. Such members in the human being are still imperfect today and will have to fulfill completely different, higher tasks in the future. The organ of speech represents an organ that will be something much higher and more perfect in the future than it is at present, with all that belongs to it in a human being. In touching on this, one touches on a great secret of existence, which is also called the “mystery of the creative word”. This gives a hint of the future state of this organ, which will one day, when man has spiritualized, become a productive (creative) organ.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Images of Occult Seals and Columns","site_heading":null,"date":"1907-10-21","location":null,"word_count":350,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/en/ga/284/1907-10-21/p007","alignment_confidence":"high","alignment_reason":"beads:identity","two_voice_volume":false,"translation_credit":{"scope":"unit","status":"established","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2024","book_title":"Images of Occult Seals and Columns","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA284/English/SOL2024/19071021c01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
