First we need to know what can be drawn out of the child. At the outset children have a desire to be satisfied analytically; then they want to bring that analysis together through synthesis. We must take these things into account by looking at human nature. Otherwise even the best pedagogical principles—although they may be satisfying to use and we believe they are fulfilling all that is required—will never be genuinely useful because we do not actually try to look at the results of education in life.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"X. Das ist so wichtig, daß man diese Freiheit des Willens mit den Kindern entwickelt.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":392,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/301/1920-05-05/p012"}],"english":["GA 301/1920-05-05/p019","GA 301/1920-05-05/p020","GA 301/1920-05-05/p021","GA 301/1920-05-05/p022","GA 301/1920-05-05/p023"],"method":"reader","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":392,"en_words":767,"ratio":1.96,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"proposed","verified":false},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":0.91,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":5311,"original_word_count":5848,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Ruth Pusch and Gertrude Teutsch","identified_edition":"AP2001","book_title":"The Renewal of Education","publisher":"Anthroposophic Press","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA301/English/AP2001/19200505d01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
