With such a therapy, it is always the case that a certain success can be achieved, but harmful side effects are present. And with Salvarsan therapy, it is completely unthinkable that one can even speak of rational therapeutic treatment, because the preparation, at least as it is described, is such that it tears apart the human body, that it tears the person apart. Nothing fits together. You can add whatever you want to the body, it can always be a success, but what then becomes of it, that is precisely what is unquestionably incalculable with salvarsan, because the things contradict each other. Unter Umständen kann man dem Körper einfügen, was man will, es kann immer ein Erfolg entstehen, aber was dann daraus wird, das ist eben gerade bei Salvarsan ganz zweifellos unübersehbar, weil sich die Dinge widersprechen. Daher kann man nur sagen: Die Salvarsantherapie ist so recht ein Kind der gegenwärtigen Denkweise. Und im Grunde genommen liegt die Sache so, daß man im Ernst auf so etwas gar nicht eingehen kann.
