We were able to determine the following for the child: it is a twin child, born six weeks prematurely. The other child died in the last embryonic stage. At six weeks the child became ill, screamed an extraordinary amount and was taken to hospital. There the diagnosis was pylorospasm. The child was partially breastfed and partially bottle-fed. At eight months it was discharged from hospital. On arriving home, it had a seizure on the first day, which repeated daily for the first two months. During the attack, the child became stiff and rolled his eyes. Before the attack, the child was anxious and cried. The child also squinted with his right eye and vomited before the attack occurred. At two and a half years of age, another attack occurred that lasted five hours. The child became stiff again and lay there as if dead. At four years of age, an attack occurred that lasted half an hour. For the first time, we were informed that this seizure was accompanied by fever. After the convulsions that occurred after the child was brought back from the hospital, the parents noticed paralysis in the right arm and right leg. At two and a half years old, the child made his first attempt at walking, which turned out that only the left leg could step and the right one was dragged. The right arm also remained without will. The same condition was still present when the child was brought to us. The task was to determine the state of the child's organizational limbs. This was attempted independently of the symptom complex. It turned out that there was a strong atrophy of the etheric body, which in certain parts took up only a very slight influence of the astral body.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Second Discussion","site_heading":"Astral-Etheric Imbalance: Spiritual Diagnosis and Constitutional Remedy","site_heading_note":"A heading the site wrote for this unit from a summary of it; not in the edition, and not the words of Rudolf Steiner or of the translator. Es stellte sich eine starke Atrophie des Atherleibes heraus, der in gewissen Teilen nur einen sehr geringen Einfluß des astralischen Leibes aufnahm.»","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":288,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/314/1924-04-23/p008"}],"english":["GA 314/1924-04-23/p008"],"method":"identity","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":288,"en_words":310,"ratio":1.08,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","meaning","audit"]},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.11,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":6946,"original_word_count":6284,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2025","book_title":"Meetings with Practicing Physicians","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA314/English/SOL2025/19240423m01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
