Now you move forward. Most of the time what they tell is not true. First of all, the patient does not say how it is. Now you have to find something to latch onto. You come across something that is mostly true. Once you have grasped that, you can move on. You have to distinguish whether one thing is true in relation to the other. An animal that has the beak of an eagle cannot at the same time have the feet of an ostrich. In the same way, things in the soul fit together. You have to guide the patient towards this. Until you have found the right point, you believe everything, that is, you believe nothing, but you make him understand that you believe everything. Once you have hooked on a point where the matter must be true, you then draw his attention very sharply to what cannot be. You then get a kind of soul organism that points very strongly to the physical organism. So it is useful to be based on a mental diagnosis.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"title":"Second Discussion","site_heading":"Astral-Etheric Imbalance: Spiritual Diagnosis and Constitutional Remedy","site_heading_note":"A heading the site wrote for this unit from a summary of it; not in the edition, and not the words of Rudolf Steiner or of the translator. Nun muß man irgendwo einhaken. So ist es schon nützlich, auf einer seelischen Diagnostik zu fußen.","text_trust":"verbatim","quote_safe":true,"word_count":190,"url":"https://anthroposophy.ai/v1/steiner/de/ga/314/1924-04-23/p049"}],"english":["GA 314/1924-04-23/p049"],"method":"identity","confidence":"high","correspondence":"established","length_check":{"de_words":190,"en_words":206,"ratio":1.08,"partial":false},"pairing_state":"verified","verified":true,"evidence":["length","meaning","audit"]},"witness_completeness":{"ratio":1.11,"band":"comparable","note":null,"word_count":6946,"original_word_count":6284,"may_be_abridged":false},"witness_quality":{"translator":{"scope":"unit","status":"recorded","translator":"Steiner Online Library","identified_edition":"SOL2025","book_title":"Meetings with Practicing Physicians","publisher":"Steiner Online Library","publisher_inferred":true,"match_score":1.0,"source_url":"https://www.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA314/English/SOL2025/19240423m01.html","evidence":"lecture_page_line","publisher_note":"The publisher is inferred from the edition code in this lecture's source URL, not stated by the source page.
