MARTA: What I must hear from you sounds like blasphemy in my language. The body with which spirits envelop us on earth carries within itself the means to conceive the creations of the gods in images of sublime beauty, and, even if they are shadowy in human souls, these images are nevertheless the seeds that will one day blossom and bear fruit in the becoming of the world, serving the gods in the maintenance of existence. And souls, whose number is truly great, could never achieve inner perfection if they could not feel life in their earthly bodies; they could never acquire the “I.”
