Third Act, partly prose

THOMASIUS' DOUBLE: I have been able to appear to Thomasius often and show him what he truly is, but he has not been able to understand me until now. I was still working in the unconscious part of his being. I wanted to show him how I live in his depths. But this life has changed enormously for a long time; years ago, Mary stood by his side; he believed he was connected to her in spirit, I made it clear to him how passion and sensuality live in me. This was a reproach to him on my part. But you, sublime master of desires, transformed the sensual into the spiritual. He was separated from Mary. But he has endured many years of strict thinking. And pure thinking has powers that purify. What flowed from the purity of his thinking also influenced me. I feel this purity within me. And therefore I may also revive Johannes with my being. But he himself is still in your power. The Guardian of the Threshold I demand him from you. I want to push back into his consciousness all that is soul warmth, all that is heart power in him. He shall regain himself.
